HI, I'm Nicola, a bisexual and intergender / androgyne / genderqueer or whatever label you can concoct for a person who positively embraces living in between male and female. I don't want to make a degree course of this as it's actually quite simple, at least if you're me. I don't accept the macho-man culture I was born into. Some people who know me are not surprised or shocked if I suddenly appear wearing feminine clothes. Not that I have any desire to somehow 'become a woman' or pretend to be one. I certainly won't be signing up for gender re-assignment surgery, as I am what I am already.
This is the sort of subject I intend to explore on my Livejournal. I don't believe we're such rare birds as the GLBT framework would suggest. Mainstream media will never have heard of us, people who should know better sometimes dismess us as 'fence-sitters', and some of us, I'm quite sure, live in complete denial or never have a chance to become themselves.
I want to talk with other androgynes and I hope the conversation will be rewarding for everyone involved.
Defining what we are might be a bit like lassooing clouds, but let's give it a go!
